Estate fencing

What we offer

Why Estate Fencing

Steel Estate Fencing is a long lasting and perfect solution to create a stylish fence or boundary in country estates, parklands or gardens. Estate fencing has a number of benefits over other forms of fencing, including the ability to follow the contours of the ground and create flowing curves following the boundary lines. Posts are driven approximately 800mm into the ground, with rails fully welded to create a very strong and permanent fencing soliton the will last l.
It will last for years, and despite popular myth, steel fences outlast timber equivalents by a multiple of time.
Estate Fencing can either be left to colour naturally or can be painted, see Painting

Installation

Supply & Install

Installation will be carried out by our own teams as we do not use contractors or third parties to initial our fences. At the start of the installation we will meet with you and agree exactly where the fence will be installed, discuss any potential issues. We will ask you to locate any services running near the fence line.

The nature of estate fencing allows the fence to follow the contours of the land and sweep around the boundary, and the exact height and line of the fence is adjusted to ensure a smooth and tidy appearance and this will typically involve ongoing discussions with customers.

Wenham Young can also provide a bespoke service to match existing fencing styles and colours, please contact us with your requirements and we will provide a detailed quotation

We can supply optimal electric fence brackets where required. These can be secured to any of our fencing designs.

Paint Finishing (install only)

Most fences are painted Black, but we can paint most colours (commonly RAL colours but also Farrow & Ball, Little Greene etc). all painted fences the steel is shot blasted and primed prior to installation, once installed and welded the welds are cleaned and reprimed before top coating with an industrial anticorrosive paint. Whilst this provides good protection, its important t note that the paint finish will require maintenance every few years.

Rust Finishing (install only)

In our Opinion the best option, a beautiful organic finish that won’t reduce the lifespan of the fence (60 years plus). Which requires zero maintenance. No tired looking flaky paint, no repainting. It always looks its best. It’s the finish we opted for when we first fenced around out own paddocks and 15 years on its still

  • Zero maintenance
  • Cost effective (save approx. £15/m in paint coat)
  • Never fades or flakes/ looks tired
  • Environmentally friendly- (no paints, oils or solvents used)
  • Perfect for fences along hedge lines where its impossible to paint the backside of the fence

Supply Only

For Farms, fencing contractors and practical individuals we are happy to supply Estate Fencing in Kit form to be erected and welded together yourself, reducing the cost of installation significantly.

Posts can be shipped on pallets to anywhere in the UK easily. We are also able to supply rails, but it is often easier and more economical to use a local steel stockholder, we are happy to advise on the required quantities for your application.

Added Options

Electric fence brackets

A bolt on option, these brackets clamp to the post so they can be added or removed at any time. Whilst all of our fences are plenty strong enough to withstand any livestock, adding electric fencing will stop animals rubbing on the fence damaging the paint. And keep the fence perfectly straight. Approx. 1 every 10m.

\

Lamb wire

If required holes can be drilled in the posts to allow strands of galvanised wire to be threaded through as an unintrusive and cost-effective way to reduce the gaps in the fence to keep small lambs or dogs from escaping. Typically, this is done in the bottom 3 gaps between the rails but can be altered to your specification.

Quadrant Finisher

A superb way to terminate a fence at a water’s edge, cattle grid, or Ha-Ha. The quadrant finisher provides a neat, professional solution where a standard fence end post simply isn’t suitable. Its curved design allows the fencing to sweep gracefully to the ground, ensuring a secure and tidy finish that maintains both the integrity and appearance of your boundary.

If you have some existing historic fencing to need to match or have a different design in mind. Let’s talk. Within reason we can draw up and make anything to meet your specific requirements.
